Starting in 2020 All Cell Phones Must Use Android 10, How's the Other?

Google requires all smartphone manufacturers to use Android 10. This policy applies to all new phones that will launch after January 31, 2019.

This announcement was made on the latest version of Google's GSM requirements. GSM contains a row of default Google applications like Play Store. If not fulfilled, Google will not issue an OEM service license (original equipment manufacturer), as quoted by Economic Times

Despite requiring to use Android 10, Google still continues to support Android 9 Pie. Support is provided in the form of feature updates until August 2020 after launching Android 11.

Then what about Android 9 Pie users and below? Google will not provide feature updates. Updates are only given if a security hole is found that puts mobile users at risk of hackers and other crimes.

This new requirement is expected to increase the use of the latest Android OS which now seems very slow to be implemented by mobile manufacturers. Though Google claims the new OS always offers a better device security system.

Huawei Hate 30 is a cell phone that does not get a GSM license so this phone does not have Google default applications such as Gmail, YouTube, and Play Store pre-installed.

Android 10 was launched last September. The latest android OS is only available on a row of Pixel phones which are Google's smartphone output.
